Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Sun God Welcome Committee's coming-out party — and The Burrenaissance's intervention.

Fifty-four point four four. That is not a margin, that is a verdict. One hundred thirty-nine ninety-two to eighty-five forty-eight, and somewhere deep in the wreckage, The Burrenaissance's rebirth narrative has officially been carbon-dated. Three straight losses now. We noted last week that the chapters were accumulating — consider this week's edition a hardcover. The cruel irony is that The Burrenaissance still has the Week 2 blowout of Goat Mode on their résumé, a fifty-point masterpiece that feels like ancient mythology at this point. The sun deity showed no mercy, no committee was consulted, and the Renaissance is now statistically more of a Dark Age.

Meanwhile, the week's most satisfying storyline might be Goat Mode, who last appeared in this broadcast sitting on the league's all-time low score of 74.74 back in Week 2 — a number so bleak it required a moment of silence. Three consecutive wins later, the goat has not only left the floor, it has climbed the entire mountain. Eighty-six seventy-four from World's Most Overrated was never going to be enough, and Goat Mode improves to three-and-two on a streak that is no longer a fluke. It is a personality. World's Most Overrated, meanwhile, is three straight losses deep and sitting at two-and-three with nearly five hundred and sixty points on the season. The name is doing its finest work yet. The points are there. The wins are not. The name was a self-fulfilling prophecy and nobody warned them.

Over in the week's closest finish, MARK SHANKCHEZ escaped Allen my ass by exactly eight points — one hundred three fifty-two to ninety-five fifty-two — a clean, uncomplicated victory for a team that knows something about surviving tight margins. Ask The Burrenaissance about Week 1. They barely edged them by four-point-nine back in the opener, and MARK SHANKCHEZ has been quietly stacking wins and sitting at three-and-two ever since. Eight points. Four-point-nine points. There is a pattern here and it does not blink.

Taylor made handled kuppmylifetopieces by twenty to get to three-and-two, which is the most poetic thing that happened all week — because kuppmylifetopieces, the league's lone four-oh darling we warned twice about schedule luck finally running out, has now watched it run out. They still lead the standings. They still have the best record in the building. But the schedule just stopped being polite, exactly as foretold.

Multiple Scoregasms erupted for a hundred forty and change against All of the Sutton in a game that went right down to the wire at fifteen forty-four — and still both of those squads are sitting at three-and-two, breathing the same playoff air with very different heartbeats.

And Gadsden my Johnston confirmed that last week's hundred sixty-six was absolutely a coming-out party, not a farewell tour. Back-to-back wins. Two-and-three record, yes — but five hundred seventy-one points on the season, most in the entire league. This team scores like a champion and stands in the middle of the pack. At some point those numbers have to reconcile.

Five weeks down. The Burrenaissance and World's Most Overrated are both three games under in the loss column, and someone down there is about to start doing the playoff math with a very small pencil.
